With the October 12th election a month away, a new independent poll shows Governor John Bel Edwards within striking distance of winning re-election without a November run-off. Jeff Palermo has the story…

A tropical wave is projected to move from south of Florida into the northeastern Gulf of Mexico by this weekend.  National Weather Service Slidell meteorologist Gavin Phillips says there is only a medium chance for development.

Phillips says expect the first impacts to be felt late Saturday with the heaviest rainfall on Sunday.

 

 

A poll by Alcohol.org shows Saints and Raiders fans are the heaviest drinkers on game day, downing on average 4.5 alcoholic beverages when their teams are set to play. Working near the Superdome, Haley, a veteran New Orleans bartender, says the biggest game day drinking issues don’t come from Saints fans, but from visitors who overindulge on the city’s stiff drinks and become a problem.

Saints fans also reported a 54 percent increase in the amount they drink on gamedays relative to a normal day.
Road rage is on the rise and it leads to hundreds of deaths nationwide every year. The National Highway Safety Traffic Administration reports the number of fatal car crashes as a result of aggressive driving has climbed from 80 in 2006 to 467 in 2015. State Police Trooper Monroe Dillon says if you spot aggressive driving, call the authorities
