In other NFL news. former LSU running back Derrius Guice undergoes an MRI on his right knee. Guice had just 18 yards on 10 carries in the season opener after missing all of 2018 with a torn ACL.

For the second straight week, LSU quarterback Joe Burrow has been named SEC Offensive Player of the Week. Burrow threw for a career-high 471 yards and four touchdowns in the 45-38 win over Texas. Coach Ed Orgeron is glad Burrow is leading his offense

True freshman kicker Cade York was also named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week. York connected on three field goals and made all of his extra points. And the Dodd Trophy of the Week goes to Coach Ed Orgeron who orchestrated the Tigers first ever win on the road against a team ranked in the top 10.

In the Stats FCS Poll, Nicholls is ranked 12th. After a week off the Colonels are back in action this Saturday against Priairie View. Southeastern Louisiana is ranked 23rd. The Lions will visit Ole Miss this Saturday.
