LSU’s new no-huddle, spread offense looked fantastic in the season-opening win over Georgia Southern, but it will be tested on Saturday against the 9th ranked Texas. The Longhorns forced three turnovers and held the La Tech Bulldogs to 73 yards rushing in a 45-14 win on Saturday. Plus the Bayou Bengals will be playing in a hostile stadium. Coach Ed Orgeron says they’ll have to use some silent count in Austin and they’ll practice this week for a loud crowd…

Orgeron says offensive tackle Saahdiq Charles and linebacker Michael Divinity will play this Saturday after missing the season opener for disciplinary reasons.

The new AP poll came out today, the Tigers remain ranked sixth, while Texas is up to number nine.

ULM defensive end Kerry Starks has been suspended for this Saturday’s game at Florida State because he spit in the face of a Grambling player. the incident occurred during the Warhawks 31-9 victory. Coach Matt Viator says Starks’ backup, Sam Miller, might also miss the game because of a shoulder injury.

The Ragin Cajuns are preparing for their home opener against Liberty on Saturday. Flames head coach Hugh Freeze coached the game from a hospital in the press box last weekend because of an infection that developed from recent back surgery.
