State Police arrest a murder suspect during a lengthy standoff on I-10 in Jefferson Davis Parish. Jeff Palermo has the story…

A week ago Monday administrators and the Deputy School resource officer at Bolton High School in Rapides Parish were alerted of a student who was believed to be in possession of a gun. When they arrived they found a semi-automatic pistol on the student. The student is charged with carrying a firearm on school property and is being detained at the Renaissance Home for Youth in Alexandria.

 

The United Cajun Navy is stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, ready to help as Hurricane Dorian inches towards the US. United Cajun Navy Founder Todd Terrell says they have chainsaw teams with them to help local first responders perform water rescues.

In Lafayette a 16-year-old girl is dead from a gunshot wound and a 17-year-old boy is in jail for Negligent Homicide. Two days ago officers responded the shooting and Lafayette Police Corporal Bridgette Dugas says when authorities arrived the girl was still alive. Police questioned the young man at the residence and discovered it may have been a tragic accident.

The victim died at local hospital.
