A political analyst expects the next 40 days to be jam-packed full of Louisiana politics as the major candidates for Governor sprint to the October 12th primary. Matt Doyle has more.

The NTSBs initial report into last month’s plane crash that killed New Orleans news anchor Nancy Parker pilot Franklin Augustus,  confirms Augustus requested to return to the airport shortly after takeoff, but did not specify why. The report says the aircraft’s historical maintenance logs noted “no deficiencies.”

A 16-year-old Lafayette girl dies from a gunshot wound and a 17-year-old boy is now in jail for Negligent Homicide. Two days ago officers responded to a shooting involving a juvenile around 8pm. Lafayette Police Corporal Bridgette Dugas says when police arrived the girl was still alive.

The victim die on Monday.

State Police arrested two people involved in a wild shooting scene on I-10 in Jefferson Davis Parish on Monday. 36-year-old Trinity Coleman of Franklin and 57-year-old Clarence Fine of Jeanerette were involved in the shootout. Trooper Derek Senegal says Coleman is a suspect in the murder of a Franklin woman and Fine had some sort of a relationship victim and apparently was out for revenge

No was injured by the gunfire. State Police began chasing Coleman in Acadia Parish the chase ended near Welsh after troopers successfully deployed spike strips.
