Authorities were involved in a high-speed chase on I-10 westbound that ended in Jefferson Davis Parish. Based on media reports the cops were after a murder suspect out of Franklin. Franklin Police say a female subject was found dead in the area of Scottie Street near Pine.

The governor’s race is about to heat up. Political Analyst Bernie Pinsonat says the post-Labor Day stretch is generally the point when the public begins to pay attention to the race, so expect a hectic next 40 days…

Saturday’s season opener for the 6th ranked LSU Tigers could not have gone any better as the Bayou Bengals were clicking from the start and easily defeated Georgia Southern 55-3. The spread offense we heard about all offseason was as good as advertised as the Tigers scored on their first five possessions. Head Coach Ed Orgeron liked what he saw.
