After 26-hours the Coast Guard called off the extensive search for a 26-year-old missing man late Sunday who was last seen swimming near Venice Saturday afternoon. The guard searched 216 square miles of open water around the state’s most southeastern tip, and utilized a coast guard helicopter, two coast guard boats, and a marine unit from the Plaquemine Parish Sherriff.
