Saturday will also mark the first time LSU will sell beer and wine to fans who have tickets in the general seating areas. Domestic beer will cost eight dollars, while imported beer will cost nine dollars. Senior Associate Athletic Director Robert Munson says they will not have beer vendors roaming Tiger Stadium, but there will be plenty of places where fans can purchase an adult beverage…

Big news out of Tuscaloosa today, star Alabama linebacker Dylan Moses will miss the season after tearing his A-C-L in Tuesday’s practice. The former University High product was a Butkus Award finalist last season. Coach Nick Saban says Moses’ injury will be a character check for their team. He’s the second linebacker Alabama has lost for the season. Joshua McMillon also suffered a season-ending knee injury.

After receiving a cease-and-desist letter from Rutgers University, Ruston High School has produced a new logo to replace the block “R” which is identical to Rutgers’ logo. Ruston High Principal Dan Gressett says it will take a while to phase out the old logo, but you’ll see the new one when the football team opens the season against Neville next week…

The college football season starts tomorrow in Louisiana. Tulane hosts F-I-U, while Southeastern Louisiana will kick-off the season against Jacksonville State in Hammond.
