The State Fire Marshal’s Office has ruled that yesterday’s fire in Calhoun, where two bodies were recovered, was a murder suicide. They have determined that 52-year old Larry Lisotta shot his wife, 57-year-old Diane Lisotta, in the head and then turned the gun on himself. Authorities have discovered that the fire in the mobile home was intentionally set, but are unsure of exactly when.

A recent article skewering Governor Bobby Jindal on the satirical news website, The Onion, is getting national attention. ULM Political Science Professor Joshua Stockley says the article is making fun of Jindal’s potential presidential campaign…

150 additional troopers will be deployed to New Orleans for this year’s Mardi Gras season. State Police Superintendent Col.
