Qualifying for the fall election begins today and none of the three announced candidates for Governor appear to be shoo-ins to win the job. Matt Doyle has the story.

Shreveport police are investigating an early Saturday morning drive-by shooting left a one-month old child dead in the Sunset Acres neighborhood. Police Chief Ben Raymond says while whoever is responsible for the crime cannot undo, they should accept responsibility for the action, adding the message to those at fault is clear.

Medical marijuana is available in select pharmacies today four years after the Legislature passed a law authorizing the product.

Congressman Garret Graves believes background checks and gun bans will not make public mass shootings go away. Graves made the statement following two mass shootings over the weekend in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas. Graves says there is a middle ground to combat the violence yet support the Second Amendment.
