While Governor Bobby Jindal addressed some three thousand people during Saturday’s prayer rally at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, there were also several hundred protestors against the American Family Association, who was a major sponsor of the event. As New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu is working to reduce crime in the Crescent City, one auto-theft crime made personal contact with the mayor, as a jeep registered to Landrieu was reportedly stolen over the weekend. An off-duty officer was able to locate the abandoned vehicle in the Uptown section of New Orleans. They are still seeking the suspect.

A University of Michigan Medical School study finds there has been an almost 30-percent increase in the report of falls among the elderly since the late 90s. Dr. Cathi Fontenot, with LSU Health Internal Medicine, feels the increase could be, in part, due to older people maintaining higher levels of activity that make them susceptible to falls…
