Eunice Police arrest a shooting victim after he allegedly convinced a friend to shoot him so he can be excused from his child support court hearing. Kevin Barnhart has the story.

Union Parish authorities say a three-year-old child is in critical condition after the little boy was attacked by three neighborhood dogs, two of them are pit bull mixes. Sheriff Dusty Gates says the child’s mother found her son next to a shed in the yard with his clothes ripped off and suffering from numerous injuries.

The US Supreme Court defeated an effort this week to allow federal courts to intervene when states engage in partisan gerrymandering of voting districts. Fair Districts Louisiana co-founder Brandon Faske says the decision means Louisiana legislators can still draw their own districts and pick their own voters.

A Baton Rouge woman is Louisiana’s latest one million dollar Powerball winner. Louisiana Lottery spokesperson BreAnne Frye says Lala Singleton was tagged in a Facebook post by her sister-in-law in Connecticut that someone in Baton Rouge won a million-dollar Powerball prize, and turns out it was her. Frye says Singleton plans to donate some of her winnings to a charitable cause close to her heart.
