The NBA free agency period begins Sunday at 6pm and for the first time in a long time the Pelicans are full of cap space, roundly 32 million dollars of it, and have room to pursue a max level player this summer. The team has been linked to backup Warriors center Kevon Looney, and young 76ers wing Tobias Harris.

And a third team has been added to the Anthony Davis to the Lakers trade, that being the Washington Wizards. Washington has agreed to take on several Lakers contracts in exchange for only a second-round pick, allowing LA to sign a max level player.

Saints defensive lineman David Onyemata gets a one game suspension from the NFL for violating the leagues substance abuse policy. The details of what that violation are have not been released, but it’s thought to be connected to an indecent earlier this year when he had marijuana delivered to his house in Jefferson Parish.

The Saints’ Alvin Kamara and Ted Guinn will join other NFL stars this Saturday for the “40 yards of gold” race that pits NFL speedsters against eachother for a one million dollar prize. The race is spilt up into two eight man fields, one on defense, one on defense. The winner of each division will then face off against each other for a winner take all contest.

LSU basketball coach Will Wade likes what he sees from his three incoming freshman during offseason workouts. This year the three-point line in college basketball is moving back to the international distance of 22 feet and one and three-quarters inches.
