El Dorado Resorts, the parent company of casinos including the Belle of Baton Rouge, has purchased Caeser’s Entertainment, the parent company of Harrah’s in New Orleans, for 17.3 billion dollars. Casino Association of Louisiana executive director Wade Duty says he does not foresee it having an impact on Harrah’s license renewal.

A Slidell man’s fiancé allegedly shoots up a truck stop after her betrothed gets fired from his job as a truck driver.
