A homicide in Concordia Parish leaves a teacher dead. According to investigators, the victim, Frederick McCray Jr. gave a ride to the suspects to a location where the suspects shot him. The suspects have since been apprehended and confessed to the crime. The victim was a teacher in Natchez where he was recently named teacher of the year.

The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office is on the lookout for a Bunkie man accused of stabbing a wedding guest at a reception on Saturday night.  According to investigators, a fight broke out around 11:40 p.m. Deputy Chief Steven Martel says 19-year-old Dontavian Williams of Bunkie caused a disturbance at the reception.

The argument escalated and the suspect is accused of plunging a large knife into the stomach of the victim.  Martel says the motive is unclear.

Governor John Bel Edwards spoke at the Louisiana Farm Bureau Convention in New Orleans. During the address, Edwards spoke of the budget he recently signed into law and says it’s a budget that the state can be proud of.
