LSU Basketball Coach Will Wade’s name surfaces again in the ongoing NCAA Basketball Trial in New York. In a video played yesterday is former Arizona Assistant Coach Book Richardson discussing a $300-thousand deal in place for LSU Forward Naz Reid.

After being reinstated, Wade agreed to a provision in his contract that would give LSU cause to fire him if he was found in violation of a level one or two NCAA violation. Tiger Rag Magazine Assistant Editor Tyler Nunez says this fits the bill, if the allegation is true…

In St. Landry Parish a priest who pleaded guilty to molesting a juvenile is set to be sentenced today. Michael Guidry (Gid-dree) of St. Peter Church in Morrow was placed on leave last year. He’s accused of giving a 16-year old boy alcohol and sexually molesting him.

 

The first death in the state from a recent outbreak of Hepatitis A has been recorded. The highly contagious liver infection primarily spreads through close contact. Assistant State Health Officer Dr. Joe Kanter says in Louisiana the cases recorded since January 2018 sees the biggest impact in two main risk categories.

State Health officials have not yet said where the death occurred.

The Department of Health is also asking you to be watchful of the “kissing-bug.” Their bite can carry Chagas disease. Epidemiologist Julius Tonzel says the bug is known for its long thin legs, earthy brown or black color with red stripes.

The insect has been reported in Jefferson, St. Charles, and Terrebonne Parishes.
