Governor Edwards has declared a state of emergency as the cleanup will continue today from Thursday’s morning deadly twister that killed two people in Lincoln Parish. Edwards has viewed the damage in Ruston and was amazed by the precise path of destruction….

The National Weather Service says it was an EF 3 tornado with an estimated peak wind of 145 miles per hour. Ruston Mayor Ronny Walker says the biggest immediate concern is restoring the power by the end of the weekend and also getting trees off of homes…

Walker estimates the damages to homes and businesses in the hundreds. The EF 3 tornado also damaged an estimated 80 structures in Union Parish, including 15 to 20 chicken houses.

The LSU Board of Supervisors is expected to approve today the contract for new athletics director Scott Woodward. Tiger Rag Editor James Moran says Woodward’s deal is six years long, worth eight million dollars…

The House will consider whether or not delivery services should be allowed to bring low alcohol content booze with their food to your front door. Shreveport Representative Thomas Carmody says his legislation specifies that the alcohol must be brought with food, and must be in the original manufacturer’s seal container, so that means no margaritas…
