A gubernatorial poll funded by the Ralph Abraham campaign shows John Bel Edwards receiving 44-percent of the vote, followed by Abraham at 33-percent and Eddie Rispone at 10-percent. Payton sought out a change to the rules after the refs failed to call pass interference on the Saints final possession of regulation as they were trying to score a game-winning touchdown.

Two children were killed and three other kids were airlifted to a Baton Rouge hospital after an overnight night fire in Franklinton. Two adults escaped the blaze uninjured. The State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating what sparked the fatal fire. The two childen who died are a 10-year-old girl and a six-year-old boy.
