The Republican Governor’s Association holds a fundraiser today in New orleans as the group seeks to raise money to take out the only Democratic governor in the Deep South.

Authorities say it was a woman who led police on a chase through Monroe this morning after she allegedly stole a vehicle from a doughnut shop. Police say a person got out of their white Nissan Altima and the suspect jumped right in. The chase ended when the car thief slammed into a Monroe police vehicle on Highway 165.

US Senator John Kennedy has introduced legislation that would give social media users legal control of content they post. Currently, photos, private messages, posts, and other interactions are owned by the network you post too, which gives companies the right to sell it to advertisers. Kennedy says it’s time to make that process more transparent.
