A bill to abolish the death penalty in Louisiana will be debated in the upcoming legislative session. Baton Rouge Senator Dan Claitor believes the death penalty cheapens life, adding there are errors that occur during prosecution, as well as a list of other issues. Claitor, a Baton Rouge Republican, is working Representative Terry Landry, a Democrat from Acadiana on pushing the bill forward. Claitor says victims’ families will be a part of the discussion…

LSU is back in Baton Rouge after just one game in the SEC Basketball Tournament. Florida upset the Tigers yesterday beating the Bayou Bengals by three points. LSU will find out their seed in the NCAA Tournament when the brackets are unveiled at 5 PM on Sunday.
