A Shreveport police officer was fatally shot last night at a home as she was set to begin her graveyard shift. Authorities have detained one person for questioning. Over in Bossier City, two women were fatally shot in an apartment complex. 22-year-old Frederick Jackson of Shreveport has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Louisiana has received a one-point-two million dollar federal grant that will go towards improving the outcomes for child victims of human trafficking. Governor John Bel Edwards says the state is making progress in trying to stop modern-day slavery, which is why the Department of Justice trusts Louisiana with this federal grant
