A Youngsville man has been arrested after allegedly counterfeiting 100 dollars bills, and police say when caught, he hid the cash in pants and then later tried to dispose of the evidence in the cop car that was driving him to jail. Duson Police Chief Kip Judice says Stephen Young was initially caught after a tip from a local gas station casino who was suspicious of the cash. The Chief says after accepting the cash, the casino checked, and then double checked its validity.
The 29-year-old is facing several counts of Monetary Instrument Abuse, along with a charge of Obstruction of Justice.

Two brothers are facing first-degree murder charges after a weekend shooting that left two men dead in a Raceland home. Deputies took 34 year old Kerry Alexander and 28 year old Jerrell Alexander into custody on Saturday night. LaFourche Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lt. Bennan Matherne says during the course of the investigation, the Alexander brothers were developed as suspects. Detectives learned they were in the Boutte area.

The victims were identified 26-year-old Marcel Turner of Thibodaux, who died at the scene, and 23-year-old Jeremiah Ballard of Raceland, who died as a result of his injuries at a hospital.

Two people are under arrest for child trafficking in a case where investigators allege a juvenile was forced to engage in sexual acts across Louisiana, and even trafficked across state lines. 21-year-old Shaena Kelly and 39-year-old Derrick Hall are facing child trafficking charges. Hall also faces a charge of Carnal Knowledge. Investigators believe the actions took place in several parishes, and even crossed the state border into Texas. Because of this, they say additional charges may be coming soon.
