The state transportation department believes they can re-open one lane in each direction on the Sunshine Bridge in St. James Parish by mid-December. Governor John Bel Edwards says crews are making progress on fixing the bridge, which was badly damaged by a barge last month…

Edwards says resuming normal flow of traffic on the bridge will have to wait until January.
