The latest college football rankings came out last night and LSU is still ranked seventh.

Saints defensive end Marcus Davenport has returned to practice on a limited basis. Davenport is trying to come back from a toe injury that has sidelined him since the win over the Vikings.

Rookie wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith was also limited at practice yesterday with a foot injury. It’s unknown if wide receiver Brandon Marshall will make his Saints debut.

UL-Lafayette and ULM will face each other Saturday at Malone Stadium with first place on the line in the Sun Belt West Division. Both teams are 6-5 overall, 4-3 in conference and in a three-way tie with Arkansas State. McNeese has fired head football coach Lance Guidry after three seasons. Guidry compiled a 21-12 record in Lake Charles, but never led the Cowboys into the F-C-S playoffs.
