Orgeron says starting free safety John Battle is questionable for Saturday’s game in Fayetteville. He went down with an ankle injury on the first play of the 29-nothing loss to the Crimson Tide.

The Saints will go after their eighth straight win on Sunday and could former Cowboy Dez Bryant be on the field for New Orleans in Sunday’s game against the Bengals. Bryant and Brandon Marshall are working out for the Black and Gold today as are not getting much production from their receivers, outiside of Michael Thomas.

The Pelicans lost their sixth straight last night as they completed a winless five-game road trip with a 122 to 116 loss to Oklahoma city. New Orleans trailed by 14 points heading into the fourth quarter, they cut the deficit to one point, but the mountain was to high to climb. Julius Randle had 28 points, Jrue Holiday added 22 and Anthony Davis had 20 points, but was just 7-of-20 from the floor. The Pels host Chicago tomorrow night.

The second year of Will Wade area begins tonight as LSU opens its season by hosting Southeastern Louisiana, who won a share of the Southland Conference title last season. The 2018-29 roster features three fantastic freshmen, Naz Reid, Emmitt Williams and Ja’vonte Smart. Tip time is 7:30.

In other action tonight, The Ragin Cajuns will host the University of Virgin Islands. UL Lafayette was 27-7 last season and they return three starters from that team.

Louisiana Tech visits Wichita State. DaQuan Bracey is a Conference USA preseason selection. ULM is at Jackson State.
