The November 6th ballot includes an amendment that allows voters to decide whether or not convicted felons should be allowed to run for office less than five years out of prison. Public Affairs Research Council Louisiana President Robert Scott says unlike other amendments on the ballot, this one certainly has some public opposition from groups who believe that once you serve your time, you shouldn’t be punished further.

It’s the number one amendment on the midterm ballot.

Parents of a Benton Elementary School nine-year-old student who say their child was abused by alleged serial predator and teacher “Perry” Norcross have filed a lawsuit against the Bossier Parish School System alleging negligence. Legal Analyst Tim Meche says if evidence surfaces that the school was warned about Norcross, they could be in trouble.

Norcross was arrested two weeks ago.
