Tropical Storm Michael will likely become a hurricane very soon and it will make its way into the southern Gulf of Mexico later today. The November election to crown a new Secretary of State is less than a month away, but there has not been much campaigning. Political Analyst Bernie Pinsonat says the candidates for this gig do not see many donations.

The election takes place November 6 and six of the nine candidates appear today at the Baton Rouge Press Club.

Drew Brees heads into tonight’s game against Washington just 201 yards shy of the all-time passing yards record. Brees’ first NFL experience was a 2001 preseason game in Miami, where he says he stared starry eyed up into the rafters at the passing records held by Dan Marino, who then held the all-time passing yards record. He says he never could imagine one day that might be him.
