Tropical Storm Gordon is on it’s way to a projected landfall late tonight along the Mississippi Coast. Matt Doyle has more.

Governor John Bel Edwards has declared a state of emergency in advance of Tropical Storm Gordon. Edwards says 200 National Guard troops have been activated….

Gordon currently has maximum sustained winds of 65 miles per hour, about 190 miles east-southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River. It’s moving west-northwest at 15 miles per hour.

Louisiana reaches an agreement with the federal government on a financing plan in which the state will receive 650-million dollars in bonds to fund the widening of Interstate 10 in Baton Rouge, a new interchange on I-10 in Kenner at Loyola Drive and a new road from I-20 directly into Barksdale Air Force Base. DOTD Secretary Shawn Wilson says the state bond commission will have to pick an underwriter at its next meeting…

The state will have to pay back the loan over the next 12 years.

In his first start as LSU’s quarterback, Joe Burrow did not turn the ball over and managed the offense well in the Tigers 33-17 win over Miami. The Ohio State transfer spoke with the media for the first time since arriving on the LSU campus….
