Louisiana has lost another one of its great entertainers as Swamp Pop Legend GG Shinn has passed away at the age of 78. Jeff Palermo has the story…

Shreveport Police are continuing their investigation into an officer involved shooting that left a 27 year old dead.  At approximately 5:18 PM yesterday, officers were dispatched to a call of a suspicious vehicle.  The patrolmen attempted a routine traffic stop that resulted in a brief pursuit with the Chevy Impala.  When officers got out of their vehicles, the suspect threw his car into reverse, hitting a police cruiser.  Officers fired their weapons at the driver with at least one hit to the chest.

The University of Louisiana at Monroe has a new four-year degree program that is the first of its kind in the state.  It’s called Unmanned Aircraft Systems Management and it’s all about drones and their use in various industries. ULM Professor Dr. Paul Karlowitz says he’s already getting contacted by companies looking to hire drone pilots and the use of drones can be applied to many different lines of work.

Online Fantasy Sports legalization will be on the November 6th ballot, giving voters a chance to legalize the use of online services like Draft Kings and FanDuel in their parish. Louisiana Gaming Control Board Chairman Ronnie Jones says it’s likely a few parishes won’t legalize it, which means they’ll have to set up geofences

That means online fantasy sports will likely not be up and running in Louisiana until the 2019-2020 football season.
