Emerge Louisiana, an organization dedicated to recruiting and training Democratic women to run for office, has announced it has seen nine of its alumnae qualify for the 2018 elections.  Kevin Barnhart has the story.

A hit and run involving two vehicles in Monroe has a 59 year old woman dead.  The preliminary investigation revealed that Emma Crew of West Monroe was attempting to walk across Highway 165 when she was hit by the driver’s side mirror of a car. LSP Senior Trooper Michael Reichardt.

Yesterday a Federal Appellate Court blocked the release of online schematics that would allow people with 3D printers, which are rapidly falling in price, to create operational firearms with ease. Senator John Kennedy says there’s nothing wrong with possessing the firearms, as long as you meet the general legal criteria for all gun owners. He says enthusiasts looking to print the guns should keep something in mind.

Attorney General Jeff Landry isn’t backing down from his statements yesterday that indicated he was strongly considering jumping into the 2019 governor’s race, and primed to do it soon. Landry, calling into the Moon Griffon show, lamented the current sit back and wait approach of many prominent Republicans.
