State Police report that three people are dead after a head-on collision last night in Beauregard Parish. Authorities say Kristi Poteet was driving on the wrong side of a divided highway when she collided with a vehicle driven by Ricky Gill of Singer. Poteet, Gill, and an unidentified passenger in Poteet’s car were pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say impairment on the part of Poteet is a suspected factor in the crash.

The state hopes to generate one-point-four million dollars in revenue by selling underutilized state vehicles at auction. The United States Postal Service says if you are shipping Christmas cards or packages by standard post, today is the last day to get that package in the mail for an on-time Christmas delivery.
