We’ll have one more day of oppressive heat then Louisiana gets a slight break from this record heat wave. State Climatologist Barry Keim says heat indices will be around 110-degrees today, but says in good news, it shouldn’t last much longer.

Major state sales tax holidays have been suspended as a result of the tax deal cut during the last special session. School supply, hurricane preparedness, and the “Second Amendment” tax holiday have been put on hold for the next seven years. Director of Special Projects at the Tax Foundation Nicole Kaeding says despite their popularity, the holidays don’t spur additional economic activity.
