State Lawmakers allocated money for the Acadiana Center for Youth in Bunkie. A juvenile prison that has sat idol for months. The 72 bed facility is set to open fully by March. The facility is needed because of a new state law that prohibits 17 year olds from being tried as adults in many cases.
