Alexandria State Representative Herbert Dixon has resigned his seat. The Democrat’s resignation is effective immediately. Dixon was first elected to the Louisiana House in 2007. Louisiana Speaker of the House, Chuck Kleckley, has set a special election date of February 21st to fill Dixon’s seat.
