Oregon State rallied for three runs Wednesday night with two outs in the top of the ninth inning, winning 5-3 over Arkansas on Trevor Larnach’s two-run homer into the right-field bullpen off closer Matt Cronin to even the best-of-three championship series at one game apiece. Cadyn Grenier singled home pinch runner Zach Clayton from third base ahead of the Larnach blast, his team-leading 19th homer of the year. Grenier, before roping a 2-2 pitch into left field, popped a 1-1 pitch foul to the warning track in shallow right field that fell between three Razorbacks.Seeking its first national title in baseball, Arkansas before Wednesday was 42-0 this season when leading after eight innings.

In the soccer world cup South Korea has eliminated the Defending champion Germany. In getting beat Germany becomes the fourth, out of the past five, world cup champion to be defeated in the tournament. South Korea won 2-0.
NBA free agency gets kicked off on Monday. Kevin Durant, Paul George, LeBron James, and Chris Paul are the big names available. It’s unclear if the New Orleans Pelican’s will take a stab at any of those Players.
Former Atlanta Braves Pitcher John Smoltz has qualified to play in the U.S. Senior Open golf tournament in Colorado Springs Colorado this week. The Hall of Fame baseball player is 51 years old and didn’t take up golf until he was in minor league baseball.
Former LSU baseball player Alex Bregman hammered a game winning two run home run last night as the Astro’s defeated the Blue Jay’s 7-6. Bregman’s homer came in the 9-th inning.

A recent commission meeting involving the LDWF to discuss red snapper season has produced the estimated amount of red snapper landed this season.  Finfish program manager for the agency, Jason Adriance says the state has already taken in more than a third of its federal allowance.
