A four-year-old is dead after a shooting in LaPlace last night. The St. John Baptist Parish Sheriff’s office responded to a call of shots fired and when they arrived they found a male and a child shot. Sheriff Mike Tregre says the little girl was pronounced dead at a hospital and the male victim was airlifted to a New Orleans hospital. No other details were released.

Four people were killed in a fiery crash on Interstate 12, near highway 21 on Saturday and now St. Tammany Parish President Pat Brister is asking the Edwards administration to move up the time line on expanding the interstate to three lanes in that area. Brister says plans to expand I-12 were recently pushed back to 2023….

Two people involved in the death of an 11-year-old girl in Opelousas are in custody. Bryla Bell was at the wheel when she died in a police chase. Two young men were in the vehicle with her, prior to the chase and authorities questioned those two men yesterday and they now face charges.
