The chances of legislators finding a compromise budget and tax plan before the end of the June 4th special session are looking slim. Jeff Palermo has the story.

State Police are investigating a shooting involving a Lafayette Police officer at the Super Seven Motel near Interstate 10. Officials say officers were called to the motel to respond to a domestic disturbance, when they arrived, a male suspect fled. During a chase he was shot and taken to a hospital for treatment. The officer was not injured.

In Southwest Louisiana, authorities arrest 31-year-old Wayne Barras of Lake Charles on attempted rape charges after he allegedly tried to assault two unsuspecting women. In both cases, the victims’ screams, alerted neighbors, who came to their aid. Lake Charles Police Chief Don Dixon says one victim was taking out her thrash…

Barras is behind bars on a 900-thousand dollar bond.

Destrehan-based televangelist, Jesse Duplantis, wants a new 54-million-dollar private jet and asks his followers to pay for it. Duplantis says the new Dassalt 7X, which would be the fourth aircraft owned by the ministry, would be more cost beneficial in the long run…
