Frustrations continue to mount at the State Capitol as that was New Roads Representative Major Thibaut. Several Democrats are upset with Republican leaders for not proposing a budget for next fiscal year in this special session. House Appropriations Chairman Cameron Henry pushed to override Governor John Bel Edwards’ veto of the budget bill passed in the regular session, but that effort failed. The special session must end June 4th and there’s a concern we could see a third special session.

A Lake Charles man is under arrest after allegedly trying to rape two elderly women in two separate incidents on Friday morning. Richard Barras was charged with one count of Attempted 1st Degree Rape. Calcasieu Parish Sherriff Tony Mancuso says they are glad Barras is off the streets…

The Bossier Sherrif’s office is looking for 38-year-old Donavan Terrel Oliver, who is wanted in the fatal shooting of his brother in Plain Dealing. Deputies say Donavan Oliver got into a verbal altercationw ith his cousin and pointed a gun at him, Kenneth Oliver stepped in, shots were fired and Kenneth Oliver died at the scene.
