After failing to pass a sales tax bill on Friday, the Louisiana House mustered enough votes on Monday to send the measure to the Senate. It would generate 366-million dollars that can be used towards a 648-million dollar shortfall. It’s not as much revenue as Governor John Bel Edwards wants, but Harris says the measure is a reflection of his values…

Legislators have yet to debate a proposed spending plan in this special session and the session ends June 4th.

A July 20th deadline is set for homeowners who flooded in 2016 and have yet to complete a Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Program survey. It’s possible many flood victims have not completed the survey, because they are not eligible for any more federal assitance, because they received an S-B-A loan. Governor Edwards says they are working with the feds to change the duplication of benefit rules…

The very popular Manning Passing Academy will hold for the first time a clinic for females, June 25th and 26th on the Nicholls State campus. Camp organizer Jeff Hawkins hopes the two-day event can help women get involved in the game and make a career out of it…

The camp is open to women of all ages and girls in grades 8 through 12 and the Hawkins says the clinic will offer females the opportunity to learn the game from the inside out.
