The first named storm of the season has developed and he could be on his way to Louisiana. Jeff Palermo has more.

An explosion at the Proctor and Gambling manufacturing plant in Alexandria claimed the life of a Jena man. The incident occurred around 3AM and involved a forklift. Fire Marshal Spokesperson Ashley Rodrigue says the explosion was contained to the incident area.

Law enforcement will be ramping up their Click it Or Ticket seatbelt awareness and ticketing campaign over the Memorial Day weekend, to remind drivers about road safety. A recent survey showed 13 percent of drivers do not wear one. Louisiana Highway Safety Commission Spokesperson Mark Lambert says while they do anticipate an increase in tickets, that’s not necessarily the goal of the campaign.

The effort will be in conjunction with Line to Line, where Louisiana and Mississippi have paired together on highway 55 to dot the stretch with cruisers.

A Minden man has been arrested on multiple sex crimes related to alleged activities with two juvenile females several decades ago. Robin Allen faces a bond of 940,000 dollars.
