Grambling State scored seven runs in the final inning of a seven inning contest to shock Arkansas Pine Bluff 10-9. Cameron Shannon’s bases loaded clearing double ended the game and earned the Tigers a hard fought split of a doubleheader.

The Ragin Cajuns swept Appalachian State in Boone, North Carolina to move to 8-7 in the Sun Belt. UL Lafayette has won five in a row. But the Cajuns couldn’t gain any ground on first place Little Rock as the Trojans swept ULM.

25th ranked Louisiana Tech ended a three-game losing streak by beating Charlotte 10-6. The Diamond Dogs scored six runs in the first inning, plenty for Logan Bailey who won his sixth game.

The Pelicans are up 1-0 in their playoff series with Portland after beating the Trail Blazers 97-95 on their home floor on Saturday night. New Orleans made life tough on Portland’s top scorer Damien Lilliard, who was just 6-of-23 from the field. Pels Coach Alvin Gentry says his guys bought into the game plan…

Game 2 is tomorrow night and then the series will shift to New Orleans for Games 3 and 4 on Thursday and Saturday.

LSU Quarterbacks threw for a lot of yards in a scrimmage on Saturday that worked on third down situations. Myles Brennan led the way and threw for 415 yards.

At Louisiana Tech’s spring game, Willie Baker had a sack and a half, Cee Jay Powell caught 7 passes for 73 yards, but quarterback J’Mar Smith was just 13 of 34 for 113 yards and Westin Elliot threw two interceptions.
