State Police say a man was killed and his wife seriously injured when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a deer near Leesville. They say 53-year-old Gordon Bolton was killed and 57-year-old Monika Bolton was injured after both thrown from the bike as a result of the collision. Authorities say both were wearing helmets. The investigation is ongoing.

Training has begun for State Police Cadet Class #93 to earn the privilege of wearing the “gold boot” badge of the Louisiana State Police. State Police graduated Cadet Class #92 in May and added 46 troopers to the roster. Trooper Jared Sandifer says this new cadet class will go through 20 weeks of intense training…
