State Police say a pedestrian was killed early yesterday after she walked across a highway into the path of a moving car near St. Rose. They say 25-year-old Christin Allday failed to yield to the oncoming vehicle. After striking the victim, the vehicle drove off. Allday was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The investigation is ongoing.

Stay safe and shop smart is the message from the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office for shoppers this holiday season. Director of the Public Protection Division, Sam Pleasant, says says if you plan on doing some holiday shopping online, be aware of look-a-like or phony websites. She says you should make sure you are on the proper website before purchasing anything online…
