The Louisiana Federation of Teachers is hailing the results of a nine day teachers strike in West Virginia. Matt Doyle has more.

Monroe based CenturyLink’s chief executive is retiring in May. Glen Post had originally said he would stay on until the end of the year. Post has served as CEO for 26 years of his 42 year career. President and COO Jeff Storey will take over after May 23rd. Under Post’s leadership, annual revenues went from 218-million in 1991 to 24-billion last year.

Senator John Kennedy is commending House Republicans for rejecting Governor John Bel Edwards’ tax proposals. Tension between the Democratic governor and the Republican legislature dominated the failed special session negotiations. UL-Lafayette Political Science Professor Pearson Cross says the dysfunction wasn’t solely the result of the 2019 governor’s race, but it certainly didn’t help.

Kennedy is one of the high profile Republican names that have been mentioned as of late to make a run for the state’s highest office.
