The Tigers leading scorer, freshman Tremont Waters, has struggled in SEC play as he’s failed to score in double figures in three of the last four games. Philadelphia’s Eagles Doug Pederson is the first person with ties to Louisiana to be a head coach in a Super Bowl. He coached at Calvary Baptist in Shreveport and also is a former ULM quarterback. Ex-Calvary Baptist assistant coach Terry Slack says Pederson’s faith is a driving force in his personal and professional life…

ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg reports Maryland has hired Matt Canada as its offensive coordinator. Canada recently left LSU and as part of the separation, he’ll get one-point-seven million dollars to coach somewhere else.

Louisiana Tech released its football schedule for next season. The Bulldogs open the year at South Alabama and the home opener is the next week against Southern. Tech will travel to LSU on September 22nd and open Conference USA play by visiting North Texas on September 29th.
