Police are continuing to investigate a fight between juveniles in St. James Parish at a Christmas Eve bonfire celebration on the Mississippi river levee in Gramercy. Sheriff Willy martin Jr. says two white males and two black males got in a fight injuring an unidentified 15-year-old and 17-year-old Shannon Dumas Jr. He says it’s been slow to reconstruct what happened since police didn’t interview anyone at the scene…

The Number of officers killed in the line of duty in Louisiana and around the country in 2017 dropped from 2016. Louisiana saw five killed this year, while nine were killed last year. National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund President and CEO Craig Floyd says even though 124 have died nationwide, it’s a number that is trending lower across the country and in Louisiana…

A Christmas eve shooting death that was initially ruled an accident, has now been deemed a homicide by Kenner Police. Dominque Wix was charged with Manslaughter in the shooting death of Akoya Skeith. Initially, Wix told officers that Skeith had accidentally fired the weapon while holding it, but Lieutenant Brian McGregor says the autopsy indicated that the death was not accidental.
