A major cold front is hitting the state, moving south throughout the day and bringing in chilly temperatures to close out the work week. National Weather Service meteorologist Patrick Omundson says thunderstorms are hitting north Louisiana first, and they will move toward the coast throughout the day…:

More than a dozen states banded together Monday to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to block a California law requiring any eggs sold there to come from hens that have space to stretch out in their cages. State Ag Commissioner Mike Strain says this violates the U.S. Constitution’s interstate commerce clause, because it inhibits the free flow of products across state lines:

Strain says under California’s requirements, eggs run $2.50 a dozen, when a standard dozen of eggs costs 99 cents.

Funeral arrangements have been set for a Lafayette icon. Judge Kaliste Joseph Saloom Jr. died over the weekend at the age of 99. UL-Lafayette President Joe Savoie says they not only lost someone who helped Lafayette reach it’s potential, Saloom was a walking encyclopedia on all things Ragin Cajuns:
