The Louisiana nominee for federal appeals court, Kyle Duncan, is set to go before the Senate Judiciary committee today. Senator John Kennedy is on the panel and has yet to make a decision. Attorney General Jeff Landry has been lobbying for Duncan, and doesn’t understand why Kennedy hasn’t decided yet…:

Secretary of State Tom Schedler will testify before a US House committee today that there is no need to worry that elections in Louisiana are being hacked. He says votes are never tallied online, but registrations are. He says when someone registers to vote online, they are behind a firewall and all information is kept private..:

A Livingston Parish woman is under arrest after allegedly falsely claiming she was raped by a sheriff’s deputy. 38-year-old Sherri Penton claimed a deputy sexually assaulted her in his car after meeting on an internet dating site. The LPSO deputy claimed the sex was consensual. State police says they didn’t find evidence in the deputy’s car. Penton is charged with with filing a false complaint against law enforcement and criminal mischief.
