CenturyLink’s acquisition of Level 3 Communications is leading to some layoffs for the telecommunications company. A spokesperson confirmed Thursday that 35 people in Monroe and about 165 people overall are losing their jobs because of the merger. But CenturyLink employs about 2,700 people in Louisiana alone.
