A Baton Rouge attorney has been arrested for the second time in as many months on child pornography charges. 36-year-old Victor Loraso of Covington is charged with 20 different counts involving possession and distribution sexual abuse images or videos of minors. He was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail. He was released last month on a 150-thousand-dollar bond. The L-B-I Cyber Crime Unit, Homeland Security Investigations, Louisiana State Police, and the Covington Police Department assisted in the investigation.
The LaFourche Parish Council is issuing a proclamation marking the 130th anniversary of the Thibodaux Massacre. The incident occurred on November 23, 1887. Next Thursday, there will be a moment of silence in Thibodaux to mark the anniversary of the slaughter. 1887 Memorial president John DeSantis hopes the event will raise awareness about a project he is involved with to locate the victims of the massacre and have them properly buried.
