State Police are investigating an officer involved shooting in which they say a Baton Rouge cop shot and killed a man during a struggle when escorting a state child welfare case worker. A Baton Rouge attorney has been arrested for the second time in as many months on child pornography charges.  36-year-old Victor Loraso of Covington is charged with 20 different counts involving possession and distribution sexual abuse images or videos of minors.  He was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail.  He was released last month on a 150-thousand-dollar bond.  The L-B-I Cyber Crime Unit,  Homeland Security Investigations, Louisiana State Police, and the Covington Police Department assisted in the investigation.

The LaFourche Parish Council is issuing a proclamation marking the 130th anniversary of the Thibodaux Massacre. The incident occurred on November 23, 1887.  Next Thursday, there will be a moment of silence in Thibodaux to mark the anniversary of the slaughter. 1887 Memorial president John DeSantis hopes the event will raise awareness about a project he is involved with to locate the victims of the massacre and have them properly buried.  They know where they are at, they just need to raise the funds for the Going Home Project…

With the announcement of DXC Technology opening a digital transformation center, over two-thousand direct jobs will be created in New Orleans over the next seven to eight years. Demographer Greg Rigamer says Louisiana provided $120 million in incentives to attract the company’s attention.
